Booker T. Washington founded Tuskegee on July 4th. Independence Day, chosen deliberately.
1896
George Washington Carver arrived. Science, agriculture, and what it means to be a Black genius changed forever.
1941
The Tuskegee Airmen took flight. 992 pilots. 15,000+ combat sorties. America was never the same.
1975
Tuskegee Institute became Tuskegee University. What was always deserved became official.
